EMIF Toolkit Error May Occur for Multiple Interfaces in the Same Column with the Same Interface ID

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT

    Critical Issue

    Description

On Arria 10 devices, regardless of memory protocol, an internal error may occur in the EMIF Toolkit if multiple EMIF instances in an I/O column have the same interface ID.

    Resolution

The workaround for this problem is to assign a different interface ID to each EMIF instance prior to IP generation; you can do this on the Diagnostics tab of the parameter editor. EMIF instances without the debug interface enabled should also be given unique IDs; to do this, temporarily enable the debug interface, change the interface ID, and then disable the debug interface.

This problem will be fixed in a future version.
