Why do I see more ICC standby in my Stratix®, Stratix GX or Cyclone® device with a .sof that was created in the Quartus® II software version 2.2 and the Quartus II software version 2.2 SP1.

Environment

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description In the Quartus II software version 2.2 and the Quartus II software version 2.2 SP1, unused M4k blocks were not properly set in low current mode. Used M4k blocks were properly set in low current mode.

If you are configuring your device with a .sof that was created in the Quartus II software version 2.2 and the Quartus II software version 2.2 SP1, you will see about .85 mA of excess current for each unused M4k block in Stratix and Stratix GX and about .93 mA of excess current for each unused M4k block in Cyclone devices.

This problem is fixed in the Quartus II software version 2.2 SP2.
