Why do I get lower throughput results on the Intel® Programmable Acceleration Card (PAC) with Intel Arria® 10 GX FPGA when running the DMA Accelerator Functional Unit (AFU) image?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

If you are using a Dell* EMC server you may have lower throughput results compared to the throughput presented in the Intel® Acceleration Stack Quick Start Guide for Intel Programmable Acceleration Card with Intel Arria® 10 GX FPGA when running the DMA AFU example due to a different configuration used in your server.

    Resolution

To get similar results please use a hardware configuration in your server as explained in the Base Configurations for Dell-EMC Servers for Use with Intel PAC with Intel Arria 10 GX FPGA. Take note of the system's RDIMM memory ranks.
