Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime software version 18.0, the compiler caused wrong file references in the database on Windows, and you may see the following critical warning in addition to the internal error:
Critical Warning (127003): Can't find Memory Initialization File or Hexadecimal (Intel-Format) File: <Intel Quartus Working Project>/recalibration.mif -- setting all initial values to 0 File: <Intel Quartus Working Project>/altera_syncram_impl_06l3.tdf Line: 35
To work around this problem, copy the memory initialization file (.hex) into the Intel® Quartus® working project directory, similar to the location of the critical warning.
This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Intel® Quartus® Prime software.
