Is there a minimum specification for how long nCONFIG should be driven low for successful configuration when using Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA and Intel Agilex® 7 devices?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

When using Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA and Intel Agilex® 7 devices, nCONFIG must only change when it has the same value as nSTATUS. When driving nCONFIG low, you must wait for nSTATUS to go low before driving nCONFIG back high. Hence, it is important to monitor nSTATUS when controlling nCONFIG to ensure a reconfiguration request is successful.

    Resolution

If you do not monitor nSTATUS, pulse nCONFIG low for at least 1,000 ms to initiate a reconfiguration request.
