1.5.6.3. Booting a Bare Metal Application from SD/MMC

  1. Complete the steps in Creating an SD Card Image on Linux or Creating an SD Card Image on Windows depending on your OS.
  2. Complete the corresponding steps in Compile the Bare Metal Application Source Code and Programming the Bare Metal Image.
  3. Insert the programmed SD/MMC card into J23.
  4. Start a serial terminal program.
  5. Power up the board. During this time, there is no console output for approximately 15 seconds.
  6. For a normal boot flow, you see a series of output messages on your serial terminal program ending with the following completion message:

  7. If you are in DXE phase, the following output message displays on your serial terminal program for post-DDR extended diagnostic boot flow.
